It looks like one of my space illustrations (which I create every few months for the National Space Society's Ad Astra magazine) has gone Big Time: MSNBC is using my rendering of the Indian Space Research Organization's Chandrayaan-1 lunar probe for a story on how the moon race is heating back up again.
I'm very happy that the image is now getting larger circulation, and doubly happy that MSNBC is covering non-US space activities (there is a lot going on -- especially in China, India and Brazil -- that gets rarely reported here).
I still feel a little weird though, that MSNBC never asked me about using the image. Isn't MS one of the loudest and angriest when it comes to intellectual property? (Aside to Anthony: is that cool that they used the pic? I'm glad they did, just want to make sure you're getting something for it.)
If anyone is interested in these sorts of illustrations, a sampling is here. And a lot more are here.
